ECT Series Digital Cap Torque Tester – ECT2 / ECT5 / ECT10 / ECT20

The ECT Series Digital Cap Torque Tester is designed for accurate measurement of the opening and closing torque of bottle caps, closures, containers and similar components.

With high accuracy, multiple measurement modes, data storage and adjustable clamping, the ECT Series is suitable for quality control, laboratory testing and production environments across pharmaceutical, food and beverage, cosmetics, packaging and manufacturing applications.

Four measuring ranges are available from 2 N·m up to 20 N·m, allowing the most suitable model to be selected for the required torque range.

The standard adjustable fixture accommodates products from Ø19.5 to Ø190 mm. For smaller caps and components, the optional ATT-JW3-20 small diameter fixture extends the gripping capability down to Ø3 to Ø20 mm.

Adjustable Cap Fixture

The standard ECT fixture provides an adjustable gripping diameter of:

This allows the tester to accommodate a broad range of bottles, jars, containers and closures without requiring a dedicated fixture for each product size.

Optional ATT-JW3-20 Small Diameter Fixture

For small caps and components below the standard fixture range, the ATT-JW3-20 Small Diameter Fixture is available as an optional accessory.

The ATT-JW3-20 is recommended for small-diameter closures, miniature containers and other components that cannot be securely held by the standard Ø19.5 to Ø190 mm fixture.

The ECT Series can store up to 1000 measurement records, making it suitable for quality-control applications where multiple tests need to be recorded and reviewed.

Selecting the Correct Model

For best measurement performance, select a model where the normal test torque falls comfortably within the instrument's measuring range.

The instrument's specified detection range is 10% to 100% of full scale, so the expected application torque should normally be above 10% of the selected model's maximum capacity.
